Shaker cards are so much fun to make and give but I really prefer making 3D projects. So I decided to combine the two and make a very sturdy 2 x 2 x 4 inch box that is tapered at the top. I kept the decoration on the box very simple to put the focus on the shaker component.
I created a small plastic bag to hold the sequins using a fusing tool but you can do the same thing using acetate and double sided tape. I demonstrate that technique in the video so if you don't have a fusing tool not to worry.
8 1/2 x 9 1/2" cardstock - I used Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim by Stampin Up
Scrap of a coordinating color cardstock for the ring - I used Rich Razzleberry and Emerald Envy
Scrap of Whisper White for stamping
Daffodil Delight for the bird
Sequins
Magnets
Bird Builder Punch
1/2" circle punch
Glue Dots
Fuse
Double Sided Tape
2 pieces acetates 1 7/8 x 2 1/4
Simply Scored Board
Steel Ruler
Score on the long side @ 2, 6 and 6 1/2
Score on the short side @ 2, 4, 6, 8 and score from the second horizontal score line at 3 and 7 down to about the 6 1/2 inch mark on the side ruler of your score board. Remove the paper from the score board and score from the bottom of the partial score lines to each corner form a triangle. See the video for details on the partial scoring.
