Truffle Box

Here is a very small treat box inspire by Sam Hammond Donald at  Click here to see the original project. I changed the measurements to hold one See's Candies truffle or 3 mini Ghirardelli chocolates. Homemade truffles would also fit perfectly. Done in Christmas colors these would make a lovely gift for friends or coworkers. They would be perfect as a table gift for a dinner party, fundraising event or even a wedding reception.

Finished Dimensions

1 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1 inch

Measurements and Scoring

Cardstock measures - 6 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches (you can get 3 boxes from one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock)

To get 3 boxes use these cutting directions

With the 8 1/2 side at the top of the trimmer cut at 7 1/2 inches.
Turn so the long side is at the top and cut at 6 1/2 inches.
Rotate 90 degrees and cut at 3 3/4 inches.
Using the piece left in step 2 with the long side at the top cut at 6 1/2 inches.
Rotate 90 desgrees and cut at 3 3/4.

You now have 3 pieces of cardstock measuring 6 1/2 x 3 3/4.

Score Short Side@ 1, 2 3/4

DSP Bellyband Measure 1 x 6 inches

Cutting and Assembly

With the long side at the top cut up each of the vertical scores to the first horizontal score line. Rotate 180 degrees and repeat. Cut small wedges from each of the square tabs for an easier fit.

Fold and burnish all of the score lines.

Using double sided tape on the outside of the square flaps adhere the two bottom flaps to the sides, the two middle flaps to the same sides and the two top flaps to the remaining sides.

Wrap the bellyband around the completed box and adhere the ends together keeping it loose enough to slip off easily. Embellish and enjoy.
